By downloading, installing, or using SplitScan ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

SplitScan is a mobile application that provides:

• Bill scanning and receipt processing using AI technology
• Bill splitting among multiple participants
• Group expense tracking and management
• Settlement calculation and tracking

Account Registration

Account Creation

• You may use the App as a guest or create an account
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

Subscription and Payments

Free Tier

• Limited to 5 receipt scans per day
• Basic bill splitting and group features
• No time limit on free tier usage

SplitScan Pro Subscription

• Unlimited receipt scans
• Priority scan processing
• Bill sharing capabilities
• Pin important bills and groups

Billing Terms

• Subscriptions are billed through Google Play
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• 7-day free trial available for new subscribers
• Cancel anytime through Google Play Store settings
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent receipts
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• Share your account with others
• Use automated systems to access the App
• Reverse engineer or copy the App's functionality
• Upload content that violates others' rights
• Interfere with the App's operation or other users' experience

Intellectual Property

Our Rights

SplitScan and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the bills, receipts, and data you create in the App. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to process and store this data to provide the service.

AI-Powered Features

Our receipt scanning feature uses Google Gemini AI. By using this feature:

• You consent to your receipt images being processed by Google's AI services
• You understand AI accuracy may vary and results should be verified
• You agree not to upload receipts containing sensitive personal information beyond typical transaction details

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

• 100% accuracy of receipt scanning or calculations
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• That the App will meet all your requirements
• Security against all potential threats

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Errors in receipt scanning or expense calculations
• Disputes between you and other users or group members

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Disputes with other users or group members

Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse our service or other users

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the service provider is located. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Severability
